A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Jordan Jefferson; the Commanders did not wait, grabbing him 28 spots ahead at pick No. 139.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Coleman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
Byron Murphy II at the Round 1 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at slot 50 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick53 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
No drama and no debate, Zach Frazier went about where he belonged in No. 53. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
Somehow Keon Coleman was still sitting there in pick 67, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick100 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
The board had cheaper options than Spencer Rattler at the 100th pick, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick139 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
They talked themselves into Jordan Jefferson at the 139th overall pick, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jordan Magee
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Magee in the 161st overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick222 Rnd7 Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson in the Round 7 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
