Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Sanders headlines a B weekend for the Browns.

Start where it matters. The Browns took Shedeur Sanders to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

If Horn Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Hancock steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In slot 2 they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 James Pearce Jr.
James Pearce Jr. is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick68 Rnd3 Evan Stewart
A real head-scratcher, Evan Stewart in the 68th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick104 Rnd4 Ajani Cornelius
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ajani Cornelius. The roster fit checks out.
Pick176 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
The board fumbled Jordan Hancock all the way to No. 176, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick188 Rnd6 Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams in pick 188 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick203 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the 203rd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick207 Rnd6 Jimmy Horn Jr.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jimmy Horn Jr. in Round 6, Pick 32, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick252 Rnd7 Will Sheppard
A reach on Will Sheppard in pick 252; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick253 Rnd7 Denver Harris
Denver Harris in the 253rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
