Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall F
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureD
The Raiders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a F.

The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nicholas Singleton, the No. 98 name on the board, in pick No. 179.

Shedeur Sanders is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In the 3rd overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at pick 36 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals at pick 114 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick142 Rnd5 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in the 142nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick150 Rnd5 Deontae Lawson
Taking Deontae Lawson in pick No. 150 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick179 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Steal is underselling it; Nicholas Singleton at Round 6, Pick 4 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick183 Rnd6 Barrett Carter
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in No. 183, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick215 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
They left a pile of value on the table to take Shilo Sanders this early at the 215th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick220 Rnd7 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at slot 220 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
