Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall
B
ValueA+
NeedB-

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Amos: B. The 49ers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Trey Amos fell into Round 7, Pick 33. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will answer for taking cornerback early while running back, quarterback and other spots went begging.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot.
Pick44
Rnd2
Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at the 44th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick76
Rnd3
Wyatt Milum
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Wyatt Milum in No. 76, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick100
Rnd3
Jahdae Barron
A curious use of pick No. 100. Running back, quarterback and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Jahdae Barron did not.
Pick112
Rnd4
Nick Emmanwori
A safety of that caliber at slot 112 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick137
Rnd4
Aireontae Ersery
Somehow Aireontae Ersery was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 36, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick148
Rnd5
Marcus Mbow
Circle this one: Marcus Mbow at pick 148 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in the 167th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick170
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at pick 170 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick186
Rnd6
Alfred Collins
They barely believed it either: Alfred Collins still on the board at pick No. 186. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick230
Rnd7
Savion Williams
They will replay Savion Williams at Round 7, Pick 14 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick249
Rnd7
Trey Amos
Trey Amos at No. 249 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
