The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

The Patriots looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Kamal Hadden at slot 126 regardless, 110 picks early. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The veteran additions, Bernhard Raimann chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, with Malik Nabers leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
