The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Patriots spent No. 139 on Kamal Hadden, a name most had 97 spots down the list. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They banked enough surplus on Odunze to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
