The war room fell hard for Isaiah Davis, and it showed at the 232nd pick: 64 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

Whatever J.J. McCarthy becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Hadden where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
