Draft Grade — Patriots

FutureA
Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a A- for the Patriots. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Isaiah Davis at slot 195, a reach of 101 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In slot 8 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value.
Pick49
Rnd2
Troy Franklin
Value with a capital V on Troy Franklin in No. 49, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick67
Rnd3
Brian Thomas Jr.
No edge and no loss on Brian Thomas Jr. in the 67th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick103
Rnd4
Graham Barton
Graham Barton in pick 103 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick195
Rnd6
Isaiah Davis
A real head-scratcher, Isaiah Davis in the Round 6 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick242
Rnd7
Tre Harris
Taking Tre Harris in pick No. 242 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
