The Isaiah Davis selection is the head-turner. The Patriots reached 72 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Troy Franklin and all.
