The Bears won the night they stopped Belton from sliding. Grade: B+.

Call it larceny. Anthony Belton sat on the board until slot 149, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The veteran additions, Joe Alt chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
