Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
D-
ValueC+

TradesF
FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-. The phones were a trap the Bills kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
Smith has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Torrence.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In the 28th overall pick they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Devontez Walker
They jumped the gun on Devontez Walker, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82
Rnd3
Maason Smith
This one needs a full-page explanation: Maason Smith in Round 3, Pick 18, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
They took Theo Johnson at par in slot 117, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick128
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
They paid sticker price for Mohamed Kamara in pick No. 128, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in No. 134 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144
Rnd5
Tommy Eichenberg
By-the-book stuff, Tommy Eichenberg at the 144th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick163
Rnd5
Tanor Bortolini
They reached into another round for Tanor Bortolini, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick189
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Drake Nugent. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick200
Rnd6
Logan Lee
A conviction pick on Logan Lee at the Round 6 slot that the board grades a round light. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick204
Rnd6
Ro Torrence
Steal is underselling it; Ro Torrence at the 204th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick248
Rnd7
Tyler Owens
No drama and no debate, Tyler Owens went about where he belonged in pick 248. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
