Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Rams were there to profit. Drew Allar, the No. 158 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 201.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. With running back, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
