Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

The Packers spent real capital to be 105 picks early on Devin Leary, and the board is going to hold them to it. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

However the rest shakes out, Muhammad III at that price is a win they earned. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Olumuyiwa Fashanu at Round 1, Pick 9 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick41 Rnd2 Taliese Fuaga
A tidy bit of business in No. 41, where Taliese Fuaga graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick44 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
Troy Fautanu in the 44th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick73 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
They let Brandon Dorlus come to them and pounced at slot 73. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Michael Hall Jr.. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Gabriel Murphy
They paid a round early for Gabriel Murphy in pick 109, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tommy Eichenberg in the Round 4 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick135 Rnd4 Max Melton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Max Melton at pick 135 is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187 Rnd6 Jaylon Carlies
Jaylon Carlies at No. 187 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick217 Rnd6 Moose Muhammad III
They barely believed it either: Moose Muhammad III still on the board at the 217th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Devin Leary
They left a pile of value on the table to take Devin Leary this early at Round 6, Pick 44. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick230 Rnd7 Jase McClellan
A big swing on Jase McClellan at pick No. 230, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
