There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bears started one anyway for Baylor Cupp, 127 picks ahead of schedule.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They will answer for taking TE-EDGE early while quarterback went begging. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. The Speights value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
