The rest of the league had time to spare on Joe Milton III; the Saints did not wait, grabbing him 32 spots ahead at the 168th overall pick. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They banked enough surplus on McGlothern to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
