A costly weekend of dealing drags the Saints to a C+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Saints did exactly that with Taulia Tagovailoa in slot 167. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
