The Seahawks won the night they stopped Riley from sliding. Grade: B.

Somebody in the 236th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Quincy Riley, the No. 182 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will need Diggs to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In pick No. 31 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at Round 2, Pick 7 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick63 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at No. 63 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
They liked Tez Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 82. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick132 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson is a better player than the 132nd overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

A wild overpay on Fadil Diggs in pick 187, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Miles Frazier. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

They will replay Quincy Riley at Round 7, Pick 18 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
