The Seahawks let Bassa fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Seahawks shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They banked enough surplus on Bassa to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The cost of the Ewers reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
