Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Seahawks cashed the board's mistake on Burke: D.

The Seahawks lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Williams reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Burke steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick19 Rnd1 Will Campbell
Will Campbell in slot 19 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick52 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at the 52nd pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick82 Rnd3 Savion Williams
They paid up for Savion Williams at the 82nd overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
A premium they did not need to pay, Jared Wilson a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick137 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Denzel Burke in Round 4, Pick 35, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick172 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
Fair-plus on Chase Lundt, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jake Briningstool
Good price on Jake Briningstool in pick 175, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick223 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris at No. 223 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick234 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
They paid sticker price for Cam Jackson in the 234th pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
