The Lions torched the value chart for Gabriel Murphy, taking him 39 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Franklin pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
