Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Chiefs never addressed tight end, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

If Kennard pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Trapilo. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick31 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard in pick No. 63 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
Nothing to complain about; Jalen Royals went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Nice patience on Ozzy Trapilo, who had no business lasting to No. 95. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Trevor Etienne at slot 133 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
