Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Johnson: B+.

The 49ers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

They banked enough surplus on Johnson to cover a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The 49ers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. Every board in the league had Ibirogba lower, and that gap is the story.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

In pick 27 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jayden Jackson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

They went early on J'Koby Williams in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
