The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Alfred Collins, the No. 56 name on the board, sitting there at No. 249 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Barron pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and tight end still on the board.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
