Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
A franchise passer in Sanders headlines a A- weekend for the Raiders.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Barrett Carter tumbling to the Raiders in pick No. 178 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

They will need Truss to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In the 3rd overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emeka Egbuka in No. 34. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick66 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at No. 66 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick72 Rnd3 Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in Round 4, Pick 2 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick139 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts at the 139th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick178 Rnd6 Barrett Carter
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Barrett Carter in slot 178, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in the 212th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick216 Rnd7 Xavier Truss
They reached into another round for Xavier Truss, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick218 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
They reached a country mile for Kaden Prather at pick 218, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
