Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B

TradesC-
FutureA-
Judkins should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Quinshon Judkins slide 114 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The White pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In No. 20 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
They took Tyler Booker at par in the 33rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick35
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III slipping to slot 35 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick37
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
The board fumbled Omarion Hampton all the way to the 37th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They robbed the room for Kenneth Grant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick52
Rnd2
Armand Membou
A conviction pick on Armand Membou at the Round 2 slot that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick79
Rnd3
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in pick No. 79 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick85
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in Round 3, Pick 21 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88
Rnd3
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore is a better player than pick 88 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219
Rnd7
Lander Barton
Somehow Lander Barton was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 3, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick220
Rnd7
Aydan White
They talked themselves into Aydan White at the 220th pick, and the board did not agree. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
