Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
Grand theft in the Round 6 slot: the Seahawks steal Shough and grade out a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

Shough at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Booker pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a cornerstone up front, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
A reach on Jonah Savaiinaea in No. 33; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick51 Rnd2 Josaiah Stewart
They paid sticker price for Josaiah Stewart in the 51st overall pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at pick No. 82 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick92 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the 92nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Steal is underselling it; Jaylin Noel at slot 137 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
Value said wait; Nazir Stackhouse in No. 173 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick193 Rnd6 Tyler Shough
A quarterback of that caliber at slot 193 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick210 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at pick No. 210 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick212 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236 Rnd7 Alijah Huzzie
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Alijah Huzzie in Round 7, Pick 18, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
