The Steelers let Bassa fall into their laps, and walked away with a D+.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Steelers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Milroe reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They banked enough surplus on Bassa to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
