Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesD FutureA-
The Ravens let Scott fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Justin Scott tumbling to the Ravens in the 57th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Moore pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back, tight end and other spots. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Trevor Goosby
In pick No. 26 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick45 Rnd2 T.J. Moore
Of all the spots to shop, they chose wide receiver. T.J. Moore in Round 2, Pick 13 leaves running back, tight end and other spots for later.
Pick57 Rnd2 Justin Scott
Justin Scott in the 57th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick80 Rnd3 Samson Okunlola
Samson Okunlola slipping to slot 80 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick115 Rnd4 Iapani Laloulu
A tidy bit of business in the 115th pick, where Iapani Laloulu graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick152 Rnd5 Xavier Lucas
Xavier Lucas is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tony Rojas
Tony Rojas at pick 160 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. The roster logic is harder to follow.
Pick172 Rnd5 Coen Echols
A quiet steal in No. 172: Coen Echols for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228 Rnd7 Stephiylan Green
They paid sticker price for Stephiylan Green in the 228th overall pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick235 Rnd7 Jackson Arnold
They took Jackson Arnold at par in slot 235, which is nothing to complain about. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick249 Rnd7 Randon Fontenette
Randon Fontenette at No. 249 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick252 Rnd7 Evan Stewart
A straight-up fair deal on Evan Stewart at pick 252, value and slot in agreement. Hard to map this one onto the depth chart at all.
