FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks let Lawson fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. Call it larceny. Deontae Lawson sat on the board until slot 173, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In slot 18 they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot.
Pick50
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in the 50th pick, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick82
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick136
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 35, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173
Rnd5
Deontae Lawson
They barely believed it either: Deontae Lawson still on the board at the 173rd overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick185
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick 185 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick210
Rnd6
Theo Wease Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Theo Wease Jr. in No. 210. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Circle this one: Ar'maj Reed-Adams at pick No. 234 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
