Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Majors: B.

Call it larceny. Jake Majors sat on the board until No. 127, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

The Noel pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In pick 27 they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot.
Pick58 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick93 Rnd3 Kyle Kennard
Value with a capital V on Kyle Kennard in the 93rd overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 127th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163 Rnd5 Riley Mahlman
They barely believed it either: Riley Mahlman still on the board at slot 163. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick173 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
They took Nazir Stackhouse at par in No. 173, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick202 Rnd6 LT Overton
They read the board right and LT Overton was the payoff at pick No. 202. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick210 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
A running back of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 35 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jaylin Noel
They reached a country mile for Jaylin Noel at pick 250, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
