The Packers did not so much draft Anim Dankwah as overpay for him, 23 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wallace falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. With quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
