Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Nash: B-.

The Bills spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nick Nash, the No. 147 name on the board, in the 206th pick. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Every board in the league had Oladejo lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Fair-plus on Malaki Starks, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick56 Rnd2 Darius Alexander
A real head-scratcher, Darius Alexander in pick 56 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick62 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Good price on Azareye'h Thomas in the 62nd pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick99 Rnd3 Oluwafemi Oladejo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Oluwafemi Oladejo this early at the 99th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips at slot 109 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick132 Rnd4 Kyle Williams
Value said wait; Kyle Williams in pick No. 132 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at No. 170 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick177 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues in pick 177 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nick Nash
The board fumbled Nick Nash all the way to slot 206, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
