The 49ers won the night they stopped Shough from sliding. Grade: A.

Somebody in slot 232 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Tyler Shough, the No. 153 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

The Joe Alt deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

In the end it comes back to Armand Membou, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
