Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Jones: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Myles Jones slide 22 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
Dallas Turner slid further than he should have, and the 29th overall pick is lovely value for the edge rusher. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick72 Rnd3 Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton in Round 3, Pick 8 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick111 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Good price on Khyree Jackson in the 111th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick129 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at slot 129 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick142 Rnd5 James Williams
They read the board right and James Williams was the payoff at pick 142. The roster fit checks out.
Pick162 Rnd5 Grayson Murphy
They took Grayson Murphy at par in pick No. 162, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166 Rnd5 Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader in No. 166 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Pick198 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Value with a capital V on Christian Jones in the 198th pick, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202 Rnd6 Isaiah Williams
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 27, where Isaiah Williams graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick207 Rnd6 Miyan Williams
Nice patience on Miyan Williams, who had no business lasting to slot 207. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick226 Rnd7 Myles Jones
Circle this one: Myles Jones at the 226th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick250 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Eric Gentry in pick No. 250. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick255 Rnd7 Donell Harris Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Donell Harris Jr. at pick 255 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
