The trade table was where it all came apart. The Panthers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D-.

They will need Corum to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. With safety and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on interior defensive lineman is the choice that costs them.

The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Hall Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

A wild overpay on Blake Corum in the 50th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

T'Vondre Sweat at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
