Webster DRAFTING FOR THESteelers

Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Steelers let Anthony fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. You could see the war room lean forward. Daijahn Anthony at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Frazier pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board. The Frazier reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
A reasonable price with a little left over, Taliese Fuaga in Round 1, Pick 20. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick52
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending No. 52 on Zach Frazier with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved.
Pick84
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
They did well to land Roman Wilson in pick No. 84, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. slipping to the 120th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick121
Rnd4
Beau Brade
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Beau Brade for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick198
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett at the 198th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238
Rnd7
Daijahn Anthony
They will replay Daijahn Anthony at pick 238 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
