The Steelers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Luke McCaffrey a full 30 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
