Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall C+
ValueD NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Steelers get a C+.

The Steelers clearly saw something nobody else did in Xavier Truss, taking him 140 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Singleton. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

So much rides on Luther Burden III that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the 26th pick they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at slot 59 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick90 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in the 90th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick128 Rnd4 Xavier Truss
They reached a country mile for Xavier Truss at No. 128, and the board is aghast. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick153 Rnd5 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at the Round 5 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick225 Rnd7 Nicholas Singleton
A running back of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 11 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick238 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders in Round 7, Pick 24 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
