Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall C-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Steelers robbed the room for Brade. Final grade: C-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Beau Brade tumbling to the Steelers in the 180th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots went begging.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick45 Rnd2 Graham Barton
They robbed the room for Graham Barton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jermaine Burton
Somehow Jermaine Burton was still sitting there in pick No. 84, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
A premium they did not need to pay, Cedric Gray a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick119 Rnd4 Javon Foster
A curious use of pick 119. Quarterback, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; an offensive lineman in Javon Foster did not.
Pick180 Rnd6 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick195 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
A tidy bit of business in the 195th pick, where Fabien Lovett graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
