The Steelers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending pick No. 99 on Jaeden Roberts with running back still wide open.

They will need Benny to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. However the rest shakes out, Branch at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
