The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Isaac Rex went at the 251st pick, a good 71 picks before the board was ready.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

A slide stopped in the 29th overall pick, with Troy Fautanu worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

They took Adonai Mitchell at par in pick No. 31, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Good things come to war rooms that wait, and T.J. Tampa at the 63rd pick is the proof. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Blake Fisher at pick 124 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
