Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Steelers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Steelers would have aced it. Taulia Tagovailoa at the 195th overall pick is 92 spots clear of where he belonged.

The Oladapo steal is the beam this whole class leans on. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

It is not that Frazier is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In slot 20 they get an anchor for the offensive line. More want than need.
Pick51 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Zach Frazier at offensive lineman with interior defensive lineman, linebacker and other spots open.
Pick84 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
They paid a round early for Brenden Rice in Round 3, Pick 20, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick98 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They will replay Mike Sainristil at the 98th pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick119 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at pick No. 119 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick178 Rnd6 Kitan Oladapo
They barely believed it either: Kitan Oladapo still on the board at the Round 6 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick195 Rnd6 Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia Tagovailoa at slot 195 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
