The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Jordan Phillips slide 24 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Hairston reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
