The rest of the league had time to spare on Jared Wiley; the Texans did not wait, grabbing him 32 spots ahead at pick No. 168.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. With interior defensive lineman and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Landing Coleman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
