Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Steelers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

However the rest shakes out, Carson at that price is a win they earned. With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Cooper Kupp deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
