When a board-topper like Ryan Fitzgerald slides to pick 246, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not.

So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Every board in the league had Taylor lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
