If confidence were a draft strategy, the Packers would have aced it. Vernon Broughton at Round 5, Pick 21 is 27 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Johnson. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
