Paul Jr. should have been long gone. The Buccaneers pounced, and earned a B.

The Buccaneers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Chris Paul Jr. fell into pick No. 156. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Truss has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
