Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C-
ValueA NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Browns finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a C-.

The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Ward fell into No. 182.

Whatever Shedeur Sanders becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick16 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In the 16th pick they get the face of the franchise at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick20 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In No. 20 they get a lead back with juice, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Circle this one: Tre Harris at the 36th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jack Sawyer
They will replay Jack Sawyer at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick51 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Somehow Walter Nolen was still sitting there in slot 51, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in pick 67 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in the 81st pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87 Rnd3 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker at pick No. 87 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick93 Rnd3 Jahdae Barron
A safety of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 29 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick106 Rnd4 Howard Cross III
Howard Cross III at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
They barely believed it either: Deontae Lawson still on the board at pick No. 110. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick114 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo at the 114th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130 Rnd4 Jordan Burch
You do not let an edge rusher like Jordan Burch reach No. 130 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jason Marshall Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Jason Marshall Jr. at pick 142 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick162 Rnd5 Colston Loveland
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Colston Loveland in Round 5, Pick 24, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick182 Rnd6 Cam Ward
Cam Ward in slot 182 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick199 Rnd6 Dylan Fairchild
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to the 199th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick206 Rnd6 Lander Barton
They robbed the room for Lander Barton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
