Draft Grade — Texans
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Texans bled value on every deal, hence the D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Texans shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D.

They are betting Foster proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Williams to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Harold Perkins Jr.
In the 15th overall pick they get a green-dot type in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyleik Williams in slot 47. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick56 Rnd2 Evan Stewart
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 2 slot with a little surplus value in Evan Stewart. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
By-the-book stuff, Tate Ratledge at pick 57 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
They took Rylie Mills at par in No. 120, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick155 Rnd5 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in the 155th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick216 Rnd7 Xavier Truss
Xavier Truss slid further than he should have, and pick No. 216 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
